Accipio Live

Accipio’s live teaching offers far more than just the live lessons themselves. Accipio’s pupils receive a fully supported learning experience that combines all the following elements:

Live lessons
Live lessons take place via the online classroom with a maximum of 15 pupils in each class. Lessons are taught by experienced subject-specialists, supported by technical and education support teams. Lessons are fully interactive with teacher and pupils talking to each other in real time, communicating via the online whiteboard and the classroom "chat" facility.

Subjects offered
Accipio offers the core curriculum at Key Stages 3 and 4 and nationally accredited courses in work-related learning and basic skills.  Available subjects are:

KS3 – English, Maths, Science
GCSE – English, Maths, Core Science, Additional Science, ICT, Preparation for Working Life (PWL) and Enterprise and Employability (E&E)
Basic Skills (ALAN) - Literacy and Numeracy.

Extension Activities and Coursework
Accipio’s teachers set an extension activity (called a "Challenge Sheet") for each lesson, helping pupils to check their understanding and guiding their independent learning. These are usually completed online and are often self-marked, giving pupils instant feedback.

Our teachers guide pupils through their coursework and will often set a coursework task as a series of Challenge Sheets.

The Accipio Classroom
As in any school, the Accipio classroom is a focal point where the majority of learning and communication takes place. Accipio’s classroom provides a safe, controlled environment where pupils can build their knowledge, self-confidence and social skills within a group.

Tutorial Support
Pupils are encouraged to attend optional tutorial sessions on Friday mornings. These provide additional support for coursework or exam revision.

Lesson Library
A recorded version of every lesson is available to pupils in case they miss a live lesson or they want to revisit a lesson for coursework or revision purposes.
